Mac Air??

Apple could release an $800 netbook in 2009, Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster told investors Tuesday. Munster is just the latest advising the Cupertino, Calif. computer maker to offer an inexpensive laptop.

Although CEO Steve Jobs has poo-poohed talk of a netbook, dismissing the growing trend as just a “nascent market,” Munster believes Apple has the perfect platform: the MacBook Air.

In a note to clients, the Apple watcher said Apple could release an 11-inch version of its MacBook Air notebook and sell the unit for between $800 to $1,000.

Jimmy Iovine Explains "Detox" Delay

Interscope head Jimmy Iovine has come forward to explain the delay of Dr. Dre's highly anticipated, upcoming album.
According to Billboard, the music mogul claimed the super producer's follow-up release to 1999's multi-platinum selling album The Chronic 2001 was originally prepped to drop in late 2008. However, the return of Eminem prompted Dre to alter his schedule.
"We only tried to put [Em] out this year to replace Dr. Dre, but we got into a quagmire," Iovine told Billboard. "Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem."
Assuring there were no personal issues involved, the music exec said Em's surprising work ethic forced Dre to move his solo project into 2009.
"Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem's album," Iovine added. "Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That's how we lost Dre."
While not offering an exact date, Jimmy promised the producer would be on hand to finish Em's new release and complete his own at the start of next year.
"Dre's going back in in January," Iovine continued. "He'll be finished with Eminem by then, and he'll finish his album."

Guess Who Is Number 1 On The Couples Rich List??

The music industry’s hottest couple, Bey and Jay raked in mega dough this past year, as if it wasn’t already expected, considering the multiple million-dollar business ventures they’re both linked to.

The royal pair topped Forbes’ richest celebrity couples list, collectively making a whopping $162 million in 2008, beating out other power couples who also make big bucks.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith took the No. 2 spot, with $85 million earned together, while David and Victoria Beckham rounded out the top three with annual earnings of $58 million, reports say.

“Naturally, powerful people tend to gravitate toward other powerful people,” clinical psychologist and celebrity researcher Jim Houran tells the magazine.

In related news, Mrs. Sasha Fierce appeared on BET’s 106 & Park Tuesday, promoting the release of her new album “I Am ….Sasha Fierce,” in which she performed the hit single, ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’. After the electric performance, Bey’ could be seen flashing her husband’s signature ‘Roc’ sign, preceded by a Heart, as she bashfully snickered at the camera.

Diddy To Appear In CSI: New York

Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs is to play a prosecutor in the Miami edition of hit US crime show CSI, US TV network CBS has confirmed.
The rapper - who has said he is retiring from music to concentrate on his acting career - will appear in two episodes of the show.
CBS said Combs would play a prosecutor who argues with Lt Horatio Caine, played by David Caruso.
Another rap star, Nelly, already plays a role in CSI: New York.
Combs, who formed the label Bad Boy Records, had global hits in the 1990s with tracks like I'll Be Missing You and Come With Me.
In recent years, however, he has turned his attention to his acting career, appearing in films such as Made, Monster's Ball and the critically acclaimed A Raisin In The Sun.
Combs episodes are expected to appear on US TV in the middle of 2009.

Damon Dash Says.... KanYe West HATES Jay-Z For NOT 'Giving Him' A Rocafella Chain!!!!!!!

Damon Dash is telling more tales about his estranged business partner, Jay-Z. His latest: that Jigga set off a feud with Kanye West by refusing to bestow his bling on Kanye.

Dash claims the simmering beef dates back to a 2003 Chicago concert, where the then-up-and-coming Kanye expected ruling Roc-A-Fella artist Jay to "knight" him by presenting him with a gleaming chain.

But, according to Dash, Jay didn't want to fork over the chain.

"This n- [Kanye ] was like, 'Wow. [Jay-Z] ain't going to give me the chain,'" Dash alleges in December's Complex magazine. "I had to take off my chain and give it to him, and I was heated. I had the real canary diamonds. That s- cost $40,000! I told Kanye, 'Yo, you got to give that back when we get off this stage!'"

Dash contends that after Jay-Z violated the code of hip-hop chivalry, "Kanye hated Jay-Z."

But a rep for Kanye tells us the story is "ridiculous and totally false."

Others suggested that Dash, whose business relationship with Jay ended badly, has trotted out the story to hype his latest protege, rapper Jim Jones.

"This is sad," says one source. "Damon does this every time he's promoting an artist. He just makes things up."

Despite Dash's feud claim, Kanye and Jay have performed several times together since the supposed bling diss.

"They're both on [Def Jam]," says a source. "They're friends and always have been."

Another hip-hop insider added, "No one has ever said that Kanye hated Jay. [West, Jay-Z and Dash] were all together at one point every single day. To say he hated him back then is silly."

"Damon wants to blow [Jim Jones] up," the source agreed, noting that Dash is producing a documentary about Jones in which Dash introduces the rapper to influential acquaintances, like Vogue editor Anna Wintour. "We'll see how this plays out."

Reps for Jay-Z and Dash didn't return calls. The full interview with Dash and Jones appears tomorrow on Complex.com.

Michael Jackson Ill??

Lawyer: Michael Jackson May Be Too Sick To Travel

Michael Jackson might be too sick to travel to London to testify in a suit claiming he owes an Arab sheik $7 million, the pop star's attorney said Tuesday.

Jackson is seeking to give his testimony by video link from the United States.

"It would be unwise for him to travel, given what's he's got now," lawyer Robert Englehart said, declining to elaborate "for the obvious reasons."

A lawyer for Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the medical evidence presented by Jackson's legal team was unsatisfactory.

"It's not the first time a sick note has been presented by Mr. Jackson," the lawyer, Bankim Thanki said. He gave no precise indication of what the illness might be, but told the court that Jackson's condition could be treated with a bandage "if the diagnosis is positive."

Jackson has often been seen wearing a surgical mask in public. In one infamous court appearance in California, he appeared to have a bandage hanging from his hollowed-out nose.

Despite much speculation about his radically changed appearance over the years, he has denied having had any alterations to his face other than two operations on his nose to help him breathe better to hit higher notes.

The judge in the current case, Nigel Sweeney, said he would decide the question of Jackson's travel on Thursday to allow time for medical experts on both legal teams to talk.

Al Khalifa, the second son of the king of Bahrain, claims that Jackson reneged on a contract for an album, a candid autobiography and a stage play, after accepting millions from the sheik.

Al Khalifa was in court Tuesday for the second day of arguments and testimony.

The case is being tried in London by mutual agreement, Al Khalifa's representatives have said, and it is expected to close by the end of the month.

Jackson, 50, and the Bahraini royal first made contact when Jackson was fending off accusations of child molestation in California. Once Jackson was cleared of the charges, Al Khalifa, an amateur songwriter, invited him to the small, oil-rich Gulf state to escape the media spotlight.

Thanki said that the pair even moved in to the same palace to work on music together.

However, Jackson dropped the project in 2006, leaving Bahrain and pulling out of the contract, a move Al Khalifa considered a slap in the face, Thanki said.

"It's fair to say my client felt a considerable sense of betrayal by someone he thought was a close friend," he said. Thanki said Al Khalifa suffered financially too: Jackson's autobiography, intended to be "a frank and personal account" of the singer's life, was alone expected to rack up $24 million.

In the meanwhile, Al Khalifa had given Jackson millions of dollars to help shore up his finances and subsidize Jackson's lifestyle in the small Gulf state — including more than $300,000 for a "motivational guru."

Thanki said Al Khalifa considered the money an advance on the profits Jackson would reap from their pop music project, but Englehart said the money was a gift.

"Sheik Abdulla, fortunately for himself, had the resources to be so generous," Englehart said.

Englehart argued that Jackson wasn't bound by the deal he struck because the contract was technically signed on behalf of 2 Seas Records, a venture which never got off the ground.

"This (contract) was one brick in a building that was never built," Englehart said.

Urban Music Awards Chaos!

One person was left critically injured while another was arrested, following a triple stabbing at this year’s Urban Music Awards in London.

According to reports, a huge brawl involving up to 30 people broke out at about 10 p.m. Saturday (November 15).

Eyewitnesses recall seeing “blood all over the floor” after the melee, which sent champagne bottles and chairs flying.

As a result, Urban Music Awards organizers were forced to abandon the event about 90 minutes into the show.

Three hundred people were kept inside the O2 Arena, as police sealed off the venue and allowed one person out at a time after they were questioned.

Three people were treated at the scene and transported to London hospitals. Reports state that none of the injuries were believed to be life threatening.

One man who was stabbed is in critical condition.

Although authorities are still investigating the cause of the brawl, a police spokesman revealed to the Daily Mail that “a 21-year old man is in custody.”

Prior to the brawl, a host of celebrities and guests were on hand for Urban Music Awards.

Nominees featured at the sixth annual event included Dizzee Rascal, Leona Lewis, Estelle, Adele and Duffy.

It is not yet known whether any of the nominees were at the awards ceremony at the time of the brawl.

News of incident triggered immediate reaction as an O2 spokesman told the Daily Mail that “nothing of this nature has ever taken place in the venue before and all the usual stringent security measures were in place.”

Despite the spokesman’s claim, event guests noted the absence of tight security.

The O2 spokesman also offered well wishes to those affected by the stabbings while explaining that the venue is working with the police to “understand how this happened.”

“Our thoughts are with the victims of the attack,” he said.

Kat Williams Gone Crazy???

The comedian, known for appearances on MTV's "Wild 'n Out" and BET's "Comic View" has made media reports recently for exhibiting erratic behavior, including not showing for an appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in New York on Nov. 4 and being arrested on weapons charges later that week after a traffic stop. On Friday, he turned up in Sumter and allegedly underwent a mental health evaluation for a possible hospital commitment, at the urging of local family members. This was after run-ins with both city and county law enforcement.

The day's bizarre events began with a call to police early in the morning.

Sumter Police Department Maj. Perry Herod said officers responded to a call in reference to suspicious behavior by Williams, 35, on Friday morning at the Mount Vernon Inn.

"And officers did talk with him, and then my understanding is he went on his own to Tuomey Hospital," Herod said.

"Basically we just received a call in reference to a possible suspicious person, but that's the extent of the dealings we had with him," said Sumter Police Chief Patty Patterson.

Patterson said Williams was trying to acquire a room at the motel when hotel employees called at around 8:30 a.m. due to his strange attire: a bathrobe and a towel wrapped around his head. After determining no criminal activity was taking place, officers left.

"He asked for some directions, which he was given, and we departed," she said.

Williams appeared on the doorsteps of attorney Garryl Deas' office at 201 N. Main St. around 9 a.m. Friday, after his encounter with police, according to Deas. Deas said the actor came and solicited the attorney's help, though he said he has not been hired to represent Williams.

During this brief conversation, Deas said Williams told him he felt the police were "attempting to violate his rights" and he was interested in retaining Deas' representation. Williams also went on to talk about his entertainment career and revealed there were people who thought he was missing because he had failed to report to some engagements, Deas said. The actor said there were even rumors he had perished in a plane crash, which Deas said was obviously not true.

"He was alive and in color in my office this morning," he said.

Deas said he talked with Williams until about 9:30 a.m. when the attorney had to leave for a court appearance. Williams asked if he could wait for Deas, and Deas told him he could, Deas said.

When Deas returned to his office at about 10:30 a.m., Williams was waiting for him. By this time, Deas said, Williams' behavior had changed.

"His demeanor was a little troubled," Deas said. He said the actor seemed "disoriented."

About that time, family or close friends of Williams arrived to try to take him to the hospital for mental evaluation, Deas said. He said the family was seeking to have the actor committed. He was under the impression the family members were a teenaged daughter and the daughter's mother. Williams, however, did not want to listen to their urging that he visit the hospital, Deas said.

His erratic behavior continued.

"He just said that he doesn't trust anyone anymore," Deas said. He said he thought "everyone has turned against him. He wasn't really coherent."

By that point, the actor was "speaking gibberish," Deas said, though he declined to guess whether the actor was intoxicated.

Deas said the family was seeking an order from a probate judge to force him to be seen for a mental evaluation. Sumter Probate Judge Dale Atkinson, however, said neither he nor any of his staff issued a pickup order for anyone by the name of Katt Williams.

Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said, however, that an order was issued by the probate court and that because his department becomes involved with these type of matters, his office was called.

Dennis said the call came in around noon and deputies arrived to transport Williams to the hospital. Though he was vocal in his desire not to go, Williams was not physically aggressive.

She could not reveal whether Williams or his family had been in contact with them, but Kathleen Higgins, clinical director for Santee Wateree Mental Health Center, said in order for someone to be psychiatrically committed, one has to be assessed by a mental health worker, "and then a doctor has to sign the commitment papers."

Kanye Talks About His U.K. Arrest

HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED…WHEN I LEFT THE CLUB, I WAS ENCOUNTERED BY A THIRSTY PAPARAZZI AS USUAL. HE FELT HE HAD MORE RIGHTS TO MY SPACE THAN ME, SO I PUT MY HAND UP TO PREVENT HIM FROM TAKING MY IMAGE. I DIDN’T ASSAULT HIM BUT MERELY PUTTING MY HAND UP TO COVER HIS LENS. MY SECURITY YELLED, “GET THE CAMERA OFF HIM.” I GUESS IN ALL THE COMMOTION THE CAMERA SCRAPED HIS NOSE.

THREE HOURS LATER I GET A KNOCK AT MY HOTEL DOOR. THERE WERE FIVE POLICE OFFICERS IN FRONT OF MY ROOM AND I HAD NO IDEA WHY. I HAD MY SECURITY GO SPEAK WITH THEM. THE COPS WERE VERY CORDIAL BUT TOLD ME THEY HAD TO ARREST ME BECAUSE A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THAT WAS THE BOGUS PART. THEY PLACED ME IN HANDCUFFS AND DROVE ME TO THE STATION. THEY SPOKE ABOUT HOW THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY A PUBLICITY STUNT BY THE PHOTOGRAPHER BUT THEY STILL HAD TO GO THOUGH THE MOTIONS. WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE HOTEL THERE WERE PAPARAZZI HANGING OVER THE BRIDGE ABOVE THE HOTEL TRYING TO GET A SHOT OF ME GETTING OUT THE POLICE VAN. EVEN THOUGH I WASN’T CHARGED, THE DAMAGE WAS DONE. SURE ENOUGH THE NEXT MORNING, PLASTERED ACROSS EVERY MEDIA OUTLET… KANYE GETS ARRESTED. IT DIDN’T MATTER THAT I WASN’T CHARGED OR THE FACT THAT I HADN’T ASSAULTED ANYONE. ALL THAT MATTERED WAS THAT I WAS ARRESTED

Lewis Hamilton Is That Guy!!!!

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton became the youngest world champion in Formula One history by the skin of his teeth after a nail-biting Brazilian Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old Englishman's title rival Felipe Massa won the race in his Ferrari but Hamilton grabbed the fifth place he needed at the last corner.
A late-race rain shower looked to have cost Hamilton the title when he dropped to sixth after a stop for wet tyres.
But he passed Toyota's Timo Glock as they entered the pit straight.
Renault's Fernando Alonso, the previous youngest champion, was second ahead of Massa's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen and Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel.
Hamilton's success buries the ghosts of last year, when after a remarkable debut season he let slip a massive lead in the final two races and Raikkonen sneaked in to win the title.
Ultimately, there were no similar mistakes this time around - but as he entered the final lap Hamilton was not going to win the title.
He - like Massa - had stopped to change to wet tyres as the rain fell in the closing laps.
But while the Brazilian held on to his lead, Hamilton dropped to fifth place behind Glock - who stayed on dry tyres.
Hamilton then lost that position - which was the minimum he needed if Massa won - when he was passed at the start of the penultimate lap by Vettel.
Hamilton tried hard to get back past the German, but he could not get close enough to him and he would have thought he had lost the title until he came to the last two corners of the lap.
There, Glock - who had started the final lap 18 seconds ahead of Hamilton - was struggling badly on the now-slick track and the McLaren slipped passed the Toyota as it accelerated up the hill towards the finish line.
"It's pretty impossible to put into words," Hamilton said.
"I thought do I have it? Do I have it? And when they told me I was ecstastic."
It was heartbreaking for Massa, whose family were celebrating what they thought was his success for a few seconds until they realised what had happened.
"It was an emotional day for me. You get here and you've almost done everything perfect but we saw Lewis passing Glock again and that mixed emotion.
"Unfortunately we missed [out] by one point but that's racing.
"We need to be proud of our race and our championship. It's one more day of our life when I will learn a lot but for sure I'm very emotional."
His only consolation was that his victory helped secure the constructors' title for Ferrari.
The thrilling climax was a stark contrast to the rest of the race, which Hamilton had approached with the caution he felt was required to avoid mistakes.
The 23-year-old - watched from the sidelines by his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, singer with the Pussycat Dolls - went into the race knowing he only had to finish fifth even if Massa won his home event.
That luxury showed in the way in which he and his McLaren team approached the Grand Prix.
A shower of rain five minutes before the scheduled start introduced a random element that was exactly what Hamilton did not need.
It caused a five-minute delay and shaped the entire race.
The heavy shower doused the track in the area of the pits and some of the corners, but other areas remained dry.
And with the sun shining as the race started, it was only a matter of time before drivers started to pit for dry tyres.
Hamilton and McLaren played it safe, leaving it as late as they could before coming in to change tyres.
Hamilton stopped a lap later than Massa on lap 11 - and two laps after Vettel and Alonso.
McLaren's decision was the right one in that it limited their risk, but it was not the best in terms of absolute pace.
Vettel and Alonso's early stops vaulted them up into second and third places behind Massa.
Hamilton, by contrast, was demoted from fourth to sixth behind Massa, Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen and the Force India of Giancarlo Fisichella, who had changed to dry tyres as early as lap three.
McLaren were confident the required result was always within their grasp.
But that was reckoning without the unfolding drama ahead.
Hamilton did not pass Fisichella until lap 18, out-braking him in a brave move at the first corner on the still-slippery track.
That put Hamilton into the fifth place he needed, and he was promoted to fourth by the three-stop strategy chosen by Toro Rosso for Vettel in contrast to the two stops of the other leading teams.
Hamilton was only a couple of seconds ahead of Vettel by the time the Toro Rosso had made its stop and he had to up his pace to hold his rival off.
And a late shower increased the anxiety for Hamilton as he sought to close out the championship.
Hamilton stopped for wet tyres on lap 66 - a decision that could have cost him the title.
It dropped him to fifth place behind Glock, with Vettel right behind him.
Vettel pushed Hamilton hard and passed him with two laps to go, leading to the nail-biting finish.
Scot David Coulthard's final race ended at the first corner after he was knocked into a spin by Williams's Nico Rosberg, and was hit by the other Williams of Kazuki Nakajima.

Def Jam Vice President Shakir Stewart Dead

Def Jam Executive Vice President, Shakir Stewart was found dead today (November 1), AllHipHop.com has learned.

While details are being confirmed, sources stated that Shakir's body was found about an hour ago in his New York apartment.

Stewart replaced Jay-Z's position at Island Def Jam and was named Executive Vice President of Def Jam Recordings in June of 2008.

Stewart began is career at Def Jam in 2004, as VP of A&R for the legendary label.

As A&R, he signed artists like Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and others.

Prior to working at Def Jam, Stewart worked for Hitco, where he signed Beyonce to a publishing deal and signed Ciara during his tenure at LaFace Records.

Shortly after signing with Def Jam, Stewart told AllHipHop.com that he was looking forward to signing a new, fresh crop of talent to the storied record label.

“My main thing is to keep supporting the artists that have cultural relevance, a message, a real fan base and that can touch the hearts of men and women,” Stewart told AllHipHop.com of his vision. “My commitment is to the artists of quality music and talent.”

Most recently, Stewart over saw the release of Young Jeezy’s latest album The Recession, LL Cool J’s Exit 13 and Nas’ untitled album.

“That's an honor for me because these are artists [whose careers] I've watched from day one. I remember buying ‘I Cant Live Without My Radio,’ ‘I Need Love’ and ‘Rock The Bells’ from LL, and Nas' Illmatic when that first came out. To be able to be a part of their careers now and work hand in hand with them in creating their albums now…this is [probably] Nas' most anticipated and controversial album ever…I'm for keeping the brand culturally relevant globally, coming in and being a part [from any standpoint] with a company that's had this type of history, recognition and respect is a huge honor and a challenge. I'm up to it, I'm a fan of the music and artists and I'm just passionate about it so I'm just ready to go.”
